After 15 years, I finally ditched my old black nylon Targus bag. While it did me just fine for numerous travels to India, China, Russia, and other interesting locales, there was one aspect that I really disliked. Every time I set it down, it immediately fell over. My new Palissy Double is a very welcome upgrade in all respects.

The first impression when pulling it out of the protective sack was very positive. Beautiful black, lustrous leather. Hardware was solid and professional looking. Zippers were high quality and movement was smooth and quiet. The best part? It stood upright like a guard at Buckingham Palace, handles and all.

Inside, the dual sections are sufficient size for decent size laptop, charger and cords, mouse, and several thick files. The small interior zipper pouch can hold all the do-dads needed for a meeting or working session. I prefer the Palissy Double because I like to be prepared for contingencies, and this bag makes this possible with the storage it provides. I bought the Palissy (single) for my son in Blue for Christmas last year and, while I felt it was too narrow for my needs, I felt comfortable ordering a second Carl Friedrik for myself. I recently used the Palissy Double at a board offsite and got a nice complement from a senior colleague.

So, overall for me, the Palissy Double is Five Stars. High quality craftsmanship, very functional, professional appearance, reasonable price.

I use my Palissy Double every day and all what I need fits inside. My MacBook Pro 16” doesn’t fit in the laptop compartment but that’s no problem at all. There is enough space next to the compartment and it’s safe for the laptop. No worry about damaging the laptop.
